Working in a Research Division
For new staff members who will work in a research division, there are additional activities and resources that you need to be sure you are familiar with. The below information is what every new Berkeley Lab staff member who works in a research area should know, and your supervisor will provide you with specific requirements based on your position and your division.
This information is important for all roles within a research division including, but not limited to: scientific, engineering, technical, program management, and administrative support roles. This information is also helpful if you are an HR or Finance professional assigned to support a research division.

The Career Pathways Office (CPO) provides development programs and events for Postdoctoral Scholars and Scientist & Engineers (S&Es)
Postdoctoral Scholars: There is a postdoctoral orientation and additional development resources for new postdoctoral staff
Familiarize yourself with Export Control regulations
Researchers are provided with a unique opportunity for internal research funding through the Laboratory Directed Research & Development Program. Familiarize yourself with this program and its requirements
